With the rapid development of global communication, the role of communication network is becoming more and more important. At present, DWDM technology has been widely applied in Network communication construction. DWDM technology greatly improves the transmission capacity of Optical fiber Network.
1. Concept
Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) is in the Wavelength of 1550nm near the window, in the EDFA can provide a gain range, the combination of multiple optical waves in a group of optical Wavelength with a fiber transmission, is a fiber backbone network to improve the bandwidth of laser technology. Rather, the technique multiplexes the tight spectral spacing of a single fiber carrier in a given fiber to take advantage of the transmission performance that can be achieved (for example, minimum dispersion or attenuation). In this way, the total amount of fiber required can be reduced for a given transmission capacity.
2. Signal format
DWDM technology has no corresponding frame structure. In the process of operation, the wavelength of a single signal is converted into the corresponding wavelength in network communication through a converter, and the transmission wavelength is reused through optical technology.
3. Networking and protection mechanism
DWDM technology network is mainly composed of point-to-point, chain, star and ring network. In terms of protection mode, only basic protection is provided. In terms of protection mode, the protection mode is mainly light recovery segment protection, and 1+1 and 1:1 protection is adopted on the optical road. There is no protection for terminal equipment, which requires two optical cables to be independently routed. DWDM‘s self-healing protection for service is carried out in SDH ring network.
4. Application scenarios
DWDM is mainly applied in interprovincial backbone network and provincial backbone network. It mainly adopts the point-to-point network mode to realize line protection. If line protection is adopted, more lines need to be laid and the cost is high. Therefore, the self-healing protection of DWDM service is carried out in combination with SDH ring network and has been widely applied.
5. Advantages
The wave separation system can greatly increase the network capacity and make full use of optical fiber resources. The transmission rate of a single wavelength is 1.25Gbit/s to 100Gbit/s, and the number of service channels is up to 96 waves. The wave separation system is composed of wavelength conversion module, wave separation module, MUX, DEMUX, fiber amplifier, dispersion compensator, network management unit and other components, which jointly complete the transmission, shaping and receiving of network signals and constitute a stable DWDM transmission system. It has the characteristics of network flexibility, good capacity expansion, security and stability, diverse and flexible management. It has rich practical experience in the application of backbone network, municipal telecom operators, state grid, military special network, security monitoring, college education network and other fields.
