EDFA Optical Amplifier module provide multi-function, low noise, Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA) solutions, The amplifier module can be operated at constant gain (Automatic Gain Control AGC), constant output power (Automatic Power Control, APC). Integrated VOA can be automatically adjusted to achieve smooth gain spectrum. It can amplify the C-Band signal with or w/o middle stage access (MSA), which brings great flexibility for the network application.
The main function of EDFA (Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier) optical amplifier equipment is to compensate the power of signal light in the transmission link. It can simultaneously amplify optical signals of up to 48 channels (channel spacing is 100GHz) or 96 channels (channel spacing is 50GHz) in the C band. It has the characteristics of flat gain, adjustable gain, and low noise index. It is an indispensable and important part of DWDM system and future high-speed system and all-optical network long-distance transmission.

EDFA amplifier can be divided into: power amplifier, line amplifier, and preamplifier according to the application position;
BA power amplifier: It has the characteristics of high input power, high gain, and high output. It is mainly used at the transmitting end of DWDM system to increase the optical power of DWDM system into fiber;
LA line amplifier: It has the characteristics of low input power, high gain, and high output. It is mainly used between two network nodes of DWDM system to increase the transmission power of DWDM system;
PA pre-amplifier: It has the characteristics of low input power, high gain, and low output. It is mainly used at the end of DWDM system to increase the receiving optical power of DWDM system;
