Core Layer Aggregation Layer Access Layer

The transmission network is mainly divided into three layers: core layer, aggregation layer, access layer
Core layer: The function of the core layer is mainly to realize optimized transmission between backbone networks, and the focus of backbone layer design tasks is usually redundancy, reliability, and high-speed transmission. The core layer has always been considered as the ultimate recipient and converging of all traffic, so the requirements for the design of the core layer and network equipment are very strict.
Convergence layer: The convergence layer is the "intermediary" between the network access layer and the core layer. It is to perform convergence before workstations access the core layer to reduce the load on the core layer equipment. The aggregation layer has various functions such as policy implementation, security, workgroup access, routing between virtual local area networks (VLANs), source address or destination address filtering, etc.
The access layer usually refers to the part of the network that is directly connected or accessed by users. The access layer uses optical fiber, twisted pair, coaxial cable, wireless access technology and other transmission media to realize connection with users and distribute services and bandwidth. The purpose of the access layer is to allow end users to connect to the network, so access layer switches feature low cost and high port density.

HTF‘s HT6000 DWDM/OTN platform is mainly used in the aggregation layer and the core layer to help you plan the service transmission between multiple points.
