Of these, 368 million households had fiber access, accounting for 90.4 percent of the total number of fixed Internet broadband access users, up 6.1 percentage points from the end of last year. The development of fiber broadband has entered the world‘s leading ranks. Fiber to the home penetration rate has exceeded the South Korea (76.8%), Japan (76.7%), the United States (12.6%) and other OECD countries.

The deployment of fiber to the home network provides a guarantee for the continuous improvement of broadband access rate. With the full coverage of fiber network and further promotion of speed and cost reduction, the mainstream broadband access rate is approaching the 100Mbit/s era. By the end of December, the total number of fixed broadband Internet users with access rates of 100Mbps or above reached 286 million, accounting for 70.3 percent of the total number of fixed broadband users, or 31.4 percentage points higher than that at the end of last year. It is predicted that after the popularization of 100 megabit broadband, gigabit network will become a new development target of fixed broadband network.
