HTF Green Passive Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer: Providing Low Power Consumption and High Performance Support for 5G and Long-Haul Networks

HTF Green Passive Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer: Providing Low Power Consumption and High Performance Support for 5G and Long-Haul Networks

As 5G networks, big data transmission, and global data centers develop rapidly, communication infrastructure faces unprecedented challenges. The Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer (OADM), as a key component of Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology, has become a crucial solution to address these challenges. HTF’s green passive OADM provides exceptional technical features and flexible configurations, delivering high performance support for 5G and long-haul networks while reducing energy consumption and complexity, making it an ideal solution for telecommunications and data centers.

With 5G networks, big data transmission and global data centres growing at a rapid pace

DWDM OADM Modules: Flexible Configuration, Optimized Transmission

DWDM OADM modules are available in single-sided (East or West) and dual-sided (East and West) configurations, offering greater network architecture flexibility. By deploying matching MUX/DEMUX units at both ends of the optical link, multiple data channels can be transmitted simultaneously over a single-mode fiber trunk. DWDM technology enhances fiber utilization by enabling multiple wavelengths of data channels to be transmitted on a single fiber, meeting the demand for high-capacity transmission.

HTF’s passive OADM modules can add or drop 2, 4, or 8 data channels at any point along the optical trunk without interrupting the overall transmission. This flexibility greatly facilitates network expansion and maintenance, allowing operators to quickly respond to evolving business needs, particularly in scenarios involving high data throughput, such as telecommunications, data centers, 5G networks, and long-haul networks.

Key Application Areas

1. Telecommunications
In modern telecommunications networks, speed and capacity are critical. HTF’s DWDM OADM modules offer flexible and efficient solutions for telecom operators, enabling data channels to be added or dropped at specific points along the optical trunk without impacting overall transmission. This ensures high-quality signal transmission, helping telecom operators remain competitive in ever-expanding networks.

2. Data Centers
With the proliferation of cloud computing and big data, the demand for bandwidth and flexibility in data centers is growing. HTF’s passive OADM modules, with their plug-and-play design and no need for power or cooling, provide a cost-effective and highly efficient solution for data centers. They not only reduce operational costs but also ensure high data security and stable transmission.

3. 5G Networks
The deployment of 5G networks requires extremely high bandwidth and low-latency transmission, especially in urban and edge computing environments. HTF’s OADM modules can add or drop multiple 5G transmission channels at any point along the fiber trunk, greatly enhancing network scalability to meet the growing demands of 5G networks.

4. Long-Haul Networks
Long-haul optical transmission typically carries massive data traffic. HTF’s passive OADM modules, with their low insertion loss and high channel isolation, provide excellent support for long-haul networks, ensuring high signal quality during long-distance transmission.

Product Highlights: Balancing High Performance and Low Power Consumption

HTF’s green passive OADM offers not only extensive applications but also exceptional performance:

1. Supports 2/4/8 Channel Add and Drop
HTF’s OADM modules flexibly support the addition and removal of 2, 4, or 8 data channels, allowing users to adjust network architecture based on actual needs and adapt to various data transmission demands.

2. Plug-and-Play: No Configuration Required
The module is designed to be plug-and-play, requiring no complex configuration. This significantly reduces installation and maintenance complexity, shortens deployment time, and enhances network operability.

3. Green Product: Completely Passive, No Power or Cooling Required
HTF’s OADM module is a green product that is entirely passive, requiring no power or cooling system. This reduces energy consumption and operational costs, aligning with current environmental trends.

4. Low Insertion Loss
While ensuring efficient transmission, HTF’s OADM modules maintain extremely low insertion loss: ≤1.5dB for 2 channels, ≤3dB for 4 channels, and ≤4.5dB for 8 channels. This ensures that signal quality is not significantly affected when adding or dropping channels.

5. High Channel Isolation
To ensure that signals do not interfere with each other, HTF’s OADM modules offer high channel isolation. Adjacent channel isolation is ≥25dB, and non-adjacent channel isolation is ≥35dB, effectively reducing crosstalk between signals and ensuring high-quality transmission.
