One of HTF customer ask, can we support to design single fiber DWDM solution for 80km?

Customer: Yes, 20dB loss for 80km, 10x10G
What’s the max for your solution can transmit?
HTF: OK. We will choose 40ch DWDM mux demex, max 16 channel x 10G.
Customer: Why 40ch DWDM mux demux only can transmit 16 channel x 10G?
HTF:
(1)As it is single fiber, for 80km, need use BIDI edfa.
(2)Under the situation of using 40ch dwdm mux demux module. (C21-C60)
(3)BIDI edfa only can transmit the corresponding wavelength.
Customer cannot use use C37-C44 channels, is related with single fiber amplifier, C37-C44 are not in single fiber amplifier wavelength range.
single fiber amplifier only support the wavelength range is:
EDFA-Red 1547-1561nm ( DWDM mux&demux and DWDM optical module use C21-C36 )
EDFA-Blue 1528-1543nm ( DWDM mux&demux and DWDM optical module use C45-C60 )
