The HT6800-OA is a dual-channel EDFA optical amplifier card for the HT6800 DCI DWDM Optical Transmission System. Supporting both Booster Amplifier (BA) and Pre-Amplifier (PA) configurations in a single module, it delivers low-noise, high-gain amplification with AGC, APC, and ACC working modes. Equipped with OSC, MON, and OTDR interfaces. Occupies 2 slots in the HT6800 chassis.
Maintains a constant gain level regardless of input power variations, ideal for multi-span networks with fluctuating input.
Regulates output power to a fixed target value, ensuring consistent launch power into each fiber span.
Fixes the pump laser drive current, providing stable operation for specialized amplification scenarios.
Single card supports two independent amplifier units (BA/PA for OA, or 2×LA for OLA) in 2 chassis slots, maximizing density and flexibility.
Typical noise figure of 5.0 dB with excellent gain flatness of ≤1.0 dB across the full C-band operating wavelength range.
Gain adjustable from 8 to 33 dB with VOA support for ±5 dB fine-tuning, covering booster, pre-amplifier, and in-line amplifier use cases.
Supports OSC 1510nm port for remote network management and OTDR 1625nm interface for fiber fault detection and span characterization.
Dedicated MON port provides real-time optical power monitoring for both input and output signals without interrupting the main signal path.
Three independent working modes — Automatic Gain Control, Automatic Power Control, and Automatic Current Control — for flexible network deployment.
